Over the past 66 years Hall Signs has partnered with organizations across a wide range of industries to fulfill their need for quality products, delivered on-time and provided with exceptional customer service. Rail is among those industries we have had the privilege of working with, and Hall Signs is proud to announce that we are an associate member of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA).
The ASLRRA represents the owners and operators of short line and regional railroads throughout North America. Short line rail is a growing segment of the rail industry and has seen dramatic growth over the past few decades, as farmers and manufacturers have returned to using this energy-efficient mode of transport to ship goods to their end consumers.
Did you know?
- Short line rail has grown from 8,000 miles of track in 1980 to over 50,000 miles of track today.
- Short line rail hauls a range of goods including chemicals, food products, aggregates and intermodal.
- According to an independent study by the Federal Railroad Administration, rail is an average of four times more fuel efficient than trucks.
How does Hall Signs fit into the picture? We manufacture MUTCD Traffic Signs and other custom railroad signage and have partnered with railroads and crossing component distributors alike. Since the MUTCD’s ruling on the I-13 Emergency Notification sign, which is required at all passive and active grade crossings, we have manufactured thousands of these signs that are posted throughout the United States.
Through our membership with the ASLRRA we hope to build an even stronger database of partnerships and continue to maintain our presence as a trusted supplier within the rail industry. We will be in attendance at the ASLRRA 2016 CONNECTIONS Convention, which will be held in National Harbor, Maryland from April 3rd – 6th. We hope to see you there!
