Hall Signs carries three styles of sign post: U-Channel, Round and Square. Before choosing a post we recommend verifying whether there is a requirement in the installation area. If you are free to select any style, consider the signs you plan to install and how you want to display them. We can walk through your plans with you and help you select the best components for the job.
U-Channel Posts, so named because of their unique “U” shape, are available in green powder-coated and galvanized steel finishes, both designed to protect the post from environmental decay. U-Channel posts are our best-sellers and Hall Signs stocks standard lengths ranging from 4’ to 14’ in 2# and 3# per foot weights; we also stock 3’ 6” base posts for breakaway installations. U-Channel posts have slightly tapered ends and 3/8” holes spaced on 1” centers running the entire length of the post.
U-Channel Delineator Posts are designed to hold small reflective panels and are manufactured in a lighter, 1.12# per foot weight. We stock green powder-coated and galvanized steel finish posts in lengths ranging from 6’ to 8’. Delineator posts have slightly tapered ends and exactly thirty (30) 3/8” holes spaced on 1” centers running approximately 1” from the top of the post.
Hall Signs stocks 2 3/8” Round Posts in schedule 5 steel and schedule 10 aluminum, in lengths ranging from 10’ to 14’. Round posts are not punched with holes, but are compatible with a variety of brackets to display street name signs and traffic signs.
Hall Signs stocks 2” x 2” Square Posts in 10’ and 12’ lengths, as well as 2 ¼” x 2 ¼” anchor pieces in 3’ lengths. Square Posts are punched with 7/16” holes on 1” centers on all four sides of the post.
Rain Caps protect posts from environmental damage by closing off the open end of the post to precipitation and debris. Round post styles are available with a domed or flat top; square post styles feature a pyramid top.
Post Breakaway Systems are designed to help reduce motorist and passenger injuries in the event of a crash. Rather than striking and penetrating a vehicle windshield during a collision, the post will shear off at the breakaway point and safely pass over the vehicle. Ground Mount systems connect a top post to a base post that’s driven directly into the soil, while Surface Mount systems connect the top post to a special adapter piece that bolts directly to a concrete surface.
Post Steps are affixed to securely installed U-Channel and Round posts to assist with sign installation. Drive Caps and Post Drivers are used together – the cap protects the post top while the driver does the bulk of the work – to drive posts into even the firmest soils. We carry manual and powered drivers to meet your installation needs and budget. When you’re ready to move an existing installation, Post Pullers help you tackle the job with ease, and the heavy duty handle that’s compatible with our Detachable Puller system does double duty as a straightening arm for twisted posts
